Iron Gorilla Forge is a bladesmith shop located in Rotterdam, NY established in 2024 and has been making blades since 2014. At Iron Gorilla Forge our goal is to create functional tools that elevates the user experience. Our focus is on creating kitchen, utility and outdoor knives. Our style is rustic but refined: clean lines, durable materials and blades meant to be used not hidden away. Each blade is designed to bring out the best balance of strength, performance and character. At Iron Gorilla Forge the blades are either hand forged by hand hammer and anvil or by stock removal (cut or ground to shape) and heat treated in the forge.

At Iron Gorilla Forge we like to use a mix of standard steels such as 1084, 1095, 80CrV2 and upcycling materials such as leaf springs and files/rasps. All the steels are high carbon and have their own unique character.

At the end of the day, whether it’s a culinary knife, utility knife or outdoor knife, it has to be comfortable in your hand and perform the task it was designed for to be a useful tool and that’s what Iron Gorilla Forge is about.
